I had the same or kinda same vibration, on my 240DL.
I chased this around for two weeks and when the dust setteled, it was the center bering for the drive shaft. The spring that centers the shaft sprong out of the rubber (car sat for a few yers before I receved it), and rubbed on the drive shaft. The faster the shaft turned the louder the sound and the worse the vibration got. The bering was bad and rough as well. This was whene the car was moving at any speed.
Another thing your post title says (buzzing vibration at idel,) if you mean the car, standing still at idel and it vibrates, it could be a few of the turbin fins inside the tork converter, as a few (3 or more) of the fins bad/broken will cause a vibrating engine at idel and gets worse as speed increases.
I worked at a auto MFG plant building tork converters, and we where aloud upto 3 fins to NOT be brased, any more than that and the torky was dismissed and melted down to seat belts and such.
At any rate, hope you figure it out. Me I spent alot of cash chasing my vibration around, tires, u-joints, wheel berings, and never thought of the center bering. GOOD LUCK!
