Bee under the Bonnet 200 1980

Recently installed AC bypass belt/pulley kit from IPD make whole power steering pump assembly shake rattle and roll. Belt too tight or too loose? Bad mounts on steering unit? Alignment doesn't look THAT bad. Thanx once again. ;o)

I got the same kit and it made the ac rattle so much that the bolts would never stay tight---so I took out the compressor, but I cant seem to get the belts right either....its pretty shakey without the compressor there

the cause of vibration under the bonnet has to be:

* misalignment of the turning pulleys , the belts have to be exactly in one plane

* there is an unbalance in the compressor rotor or power steering

I suppose the principal 2 belts (dynamo, crank pulley and waterpump pulley) are not shaking,

you could ask, why are these correct functioning?: because they dont suffer of one of the above mentioned causes

* if a belt is worn or there is too little tension in ti, it makes ONLY a lot of noise (friction) but not shivering

succes in finding the cause
