Is it worth buying from Haynes website in England the Service Manual for 1989-1992 for 740's or is the one available here that covers thru 1988 adequate?

I just got one of those in this morning from them , along with the 940 manual.
The later book for 740(covers '82-91 has a few more things in it than the earlier one including good info on the B234f (16 valve)engine
Also these books were both hard cover bound, not paperbacks.

The -88 version should be fine for you. I have a 89 turbo and have not noticed any differences. I suspect the manual only goes to 88 since 89 was a transition year for the fuel injection system (LH 2.2 to LH 2.4). The turbos did not get LH 2.4 until 90 but the NAs got it in 89. They don't cover LH 2.4 but since you have a turbo and don't need it.
