REPOST: SEATS, help with connections please!!! 700

I need to know what the deal is with all the wires on the 1988 760 Turbo power seats...

I have two seats, I have a deep cycle marine battery, I got some leads, and I'm trying to test the motors/switches before I go through the trouble of a swap. I tried hooking it up to just the power leads, (red/black) on both connectors...no go. I'm pretty sure the third lead whether it is a ground or whatever plays a siginificant role in whether it does anything or not. So if someone could tell me which wires are for the motors, which for the heater, which needs to be grounded to what, to make it run, that'd be great.

Thanks!
-Matt

I did my own experimentation with a multimeter...

For anyone else wanting to test the seats outside the car:

The gray plug with the banana pins (at leats on the '88 seats) is the one for the motors. All you hafta do to get it working is hook up the power leads and apply +12V to the relay wire and you should be set.

The large black plug with spade connectors is for the heaters, and you can test that similarly... but I wouldn't leave it plugged in too long.
