Anyone need an appreciative home for a 164 ??? 140-160

Hi, all. A nice deal seems to have fallen through with a guy with a nice 164 (automatic, sunroof, power windows, working A/C, and low mileage) and I'm depressed -- and after all the work it took to get my wife to agree to let me buy a sixth car! Believe me, it wasn't easy for me to come up with a response to, "Do you want to have a different car for each day of the week?"!

Does anyone in the northeast want to sell their 164 to me to help console me?

I'll be happy to pay a good price if it's in good shape, especially if it has a sunroof and stuff (that was the argument I used, btw -- told my wife that we ought to have at least one car with a sunroof). It's got to be a '75, though (and don't forget, with working A/C) -- and if you had a Canadian E engine, I'd pay through the nose!

And I promise to give it a good, loving home! :-)
Thanks all.

CAll Mark at Eurocars Plus in Groton, CT- he has a gorgeous 75 164E that he's done a great job restoring. It's the best one I've seen in 15 years. It's a rust free California car, light metaillic blue, automatic, black leather seats from a late-late 240GL, and has had all the mechanicals done in his shop by an old-school Volvo mechanic.
I don't know what he wants for it, but he always mentions selling one of his toys... he's got all kinds of interesting Volvos.
If you're serious, it's about the best one out there. I would try to call late in the morning (11?) or after 5PM.

There's a pic in the archive that looks exactly like it...

My next car is going to be a 164, but I'm fond of the '71 or '72 with the funky horizontal speedometer. There aren't too many classic Volvos in the Midwest, though.

Good luck in your search!
