Bulb failure light 700 1989

I recently replaced the lowbeam headlight on my car, since then the bulb failure indicator comes on when the lights are turned on. I have checked the wires going to the headlight, thinking I might have pinched one of them and caused a short, they all seem to be in good shape. the indicator was not on before I replaced the headlight, the old light worked, it had gotten chipped and had water in it and started to get dim so I changed it. I also checked all the other lights on the car, they are all working properly as well.
Any help would be appreciated.

Both lamps have to draw the same amount of amperage for the light to go out. The easiest way to do this is to make sure both lamps are the same make and model.

The indicator light does not come on when the parking lights are on, or the high beam lights. I just went out and plugged the old bulb up and the indicator light went out. I now believe the problem is with the amp draw (thank you) the light are not the same type one is a sylvania H4656 35/35 watts, and the other is a Wagner halogen.I will go pick up another sylvania light.I believe that will solve the problem. Thank you for your help.and quick responce

FYI bulb failure light is only for low beams, tail, & brake lights.

If you still have the old headlight, I would plug it in and see if the failure light still comes on. Does the failure light come on with just the parking lights on?
