race this weekend 140-160

Just thought I'd let everyone out there in the Portland area that I will be out at PIR this weekend in my ITB 140. It's not really a race, I'm still working on getting my license so I wont really be mached up with the cars I would normaly run with. I just thought that some of you volvo freaks out there might get a kick out of it.

I will be doing 2 30 min sessions on Sat. One at 1:00 and the last at 5:00.

Marc

When did you pick that car up? I haven't heard anything about it... Anyway, I'd love to come and check it out! But the thing is, I get off work at 5:30 and wouldn't be able to get there until at least 6:00, I might be able to get there a little earlier, if i can get someone to come in early... Otherwise, I'm there! Let me know how late you'll be there.
Thanks,
Kyle

Race really starts at 5:23 and is usually late so if you run out there you might catch the whole thing.

I'll be there around 140-160

Around 445 or 5ish, I got someone to cover for me. So when I get there, I'll drop by wherever you are at and chat with you. I can't wait to meet you and your car! I'll bring a camera, what is the occasion at PIR? I haven't heard anything about it. Is it true that you have to use a Weber DGV carb? blah blah blah, i'll ask you the questions on sat.
Peace,
Kyle

Yes it is at PIR. This weekend we are on the infield. I think once things start you will need to park out on the outfield and go over the goodyear bridge to get there. Again its my first time doning things like this and I'm not sure how it all works work. Once your over the bride my little pit space is not to far to the left. To the left of me there should be a white, and a yellow Integra. Hope to see you there.

Marc

Mark,

How is your car set up? Engine? suspension? What mods, safety gear, etc.?

I am watching a 140 doing Solo I hillclimbing around here, but I haven't yat been able to talk to the guy to learn what he has. Another guy runs a P544. And a third guy a 240 in Pro Rally.

I may yet prepard my '84 244GL for next season Solo I & II.

Asking me to reveal my secrets I can’t believe you. Only if I had secrets to reveal. I bought me car already to go, a lot let time and money. I would like to build a car some day; you know to become one with it.

Not sure if you know anything about ITB, but is basically like this. Suspension is open as long as you use stock mounting points. Engine is balanced, blueprinted and port matched. Everything else is stock even the flywheel. Intake, header and pressure plate open. I put 97hp down at the rear wheels on the dino. It was running a little rich that day, I would like to think that I might be able to hit the century mark on a good day. As far as safety. Six point role bar, five point harness and seat and that’s about it. I like to think that im not really going fast enough to hurt myself yet.

That’s it in a nutshell.

Where's "around here"?

Marc

Hi,

What kind of setup on the throttle linkage do you have? I'm trying to figure out a more precise/less play than my stock one that has a funky pivot thing on the firewall. Any info would be great and I'd love to head up there when you're racing next. thanks, Marshall
