headlight cleaning 200 1990

ive been brainstorming ideas to clean and try to refinish my headlights to try to get them shining again. so far ive used 0000 steel wool and some marine plastic cleaner and wax. any other suggestions to get these old things shining again?

    I've had really good results from a product called NOVUS scratch remover (red & white bottle) and a lot of elbow grease. It comes in different grades, I have the best finish from the #2. I've seen it in some auto supply shops and a little goes a long way. If you want to remove them from the car, you can also use the novus with a low speed, soft cotton buffing wheel. Have fun.....

    Try Blue Coral plexi polish and a Buffing pad on a Dremel or like rotary tool
    also there was a product called "SILVO" which we used to use when I was an optical benchman at a contact lens maker. It worked well on CR-39 optical quality plastic lenses so should work on Headlamp plastic, we used a 20K rpm motor and a buffing pad made of Dr. Scholls Moleskin.
