Coolant tank cap 200 1982

Hi guys,

the black coolant tank cap on my 82 242 Turbo Intercooled is leaking.

What is the correct cap/part number and color for the correct replacement cap?

    When you say black coolant tank cap is leaking, do you mean that when you stop water is coming out of the top? If this is the case buying a new top may not solve your problem. I ran into to this problem on my 82 245 and found even after I bought a new cap I still had the problem. I only solved the problem of the water coming out of the top of the tank by buying a used tank. Turns out the threads on the tank got messed up(have no idea how this happened)and won't allow the cap to seal properly. After I installed a used tank end of problem. Just something to consider.

    Sorry I don't have the number. However, the cap does have a valve to relieve excess pressure. Some coolant mist may condense on the top of the tank.
