Camshaft bolt retightening 700 1988

I am in the process of reinstalling the cylinder head and everything else on my 1988 740 turbo. I am having a hard time retorquing the bolt that holds the timing chain sprocket to the camshaft. Are there any tricks? I can't find a way to stop the camshaft from turning.

I was able to hold mine with a rubber strap wrench with one hand while I ran the torque wrench with the other. Worked very well on several t-belt gears both Volvo and Subaru.

If you have the crankshaft counterhold tool, it will fit into the holes in the belt sprocket -- you can hold it with one hand while you torque with the other.

You can stick a screwdriver through one hole in the sprocket and jam it against something on the head.

You can wrap the old belt around the sprocket and grab the outer circumference with big mutha channelock pliers. The old belt will protect the teeth of the sprocket.
