Speakers and insulation 200 1997

I have a 240 dl sedan. I want to install rear speakers. Nothing crazy, just want to hear the radio behind me. Any sugestions on brands, sizes? Can I just run wires from the rear of the radio to the back?
Thanks

Had to have the same thing done, and wires ran into the back. I decided to get some Pioneer Premiers. They're the 6x9". They had to cut a few slivers of metal out of the back deck frame so they would fit. I'm still happy with them after 2 years.

new wire to the back is a must. I put in some Clarion 6x9s about 6 years ago, and they still do the trick- I guess it depends on what you're looking for.

Chapster- how deep are the ones you put in the front? did you have to use spacers?

If i was you, id go with some walmart lightningaudio 4" in the doors, and some Pioneer 6x9's in the deck
they come with a template on the box, use it to enlarge the cardboard rear deck/dash as well as cutting a little sheetmetal from deck with tin/aviation snips. mark holes, cut away the tar paper like stuff, and cut while laying inside trunk. thats how i did it, and im 250 6'5", So if i fit, anyone will. of course, i alsso put 2 audiobahn 10's and a 1600 watt SPL amp, but thats personal preference baby. A 24 wide, 12 high, 13" Deep sub box fits perfectly. Right between the mags. and for a lil more bass, one 12 would sound very good in a brick. thats all i got for now, and i know a bit bout stereos, and will try to answer all q's as best as possible. see my threads, look for car audio related or ask me.

I just replaced both front and back on my 86 240 sedan.
I used infinity 4" 4002i reference in the front (sound excellent) and 5.25" Kenwood in the back. I don't have the model # for the rear ones but they are from a place called etronic.com and they were about $36 a pair.
I just ran new wires for all ,18 gauge, along the floor and beside the rear seat. The rear are a piece of cake.

Good Luck
Chapster out
