FCP Gorton-Volvo - purchase experience? 700

Hi,

Just wondering if anyone purchased anything from FCP Gorton-Volvo before, and if so how is their customer service / shipping cost. I noticed that some of their stuff is only half of what IPD's asking for, such as ATE Power Disc rotors and Nivomat rear shocks (both I'm considering upgrading on my '90 Volvo 740). Let me know if any of you guy's dealt with them, thanks!

Top notch. They're on my short list of preferred suppliers.

I recommend them, but here's a tip...

Order heavy items separately from delicate items. Like rotors, calipers, liters of brake fluid on one order, gaskets, seals and your new belly pan on another.

Top Notch Customer Service & Shipping 700

I live in Maine, and the UPS Ground routing apparently works in my favor: if I order before 10am, I usually receive my part within 24 hours using the cheapest (UPS Ground) shipping.

I HIGHLY recommend!

FCP is a first-rate parts supplier. I've ordered many things from them and will continue to... The listing on their site should definately not represent what they have or can get... I've gotten many things including 16 new valves, head gasket set, various parts like hoses, flame trap etc..., Fuel pump relay, timing belt idlers and tensioner, a foglight for my brother's E30 BMW... all have been of good quality and at a good price! I even got a brand new OEM volvo oil pump pulley shipped second day for less than what it would cost for me to order it at the dealer (before tax!) and i got it faster than if i ordered it at the dealer. They even priced out a turbo exhaust manifold for me! (not available in the US!) - maybe some day I'll order it..

FCP Gorton-Volvo - purchase experience?

Couldn't be happier with FCP Groton. I ordered a set of front pads for a 740; didn't put them on for 7 months, THEN noticed they were the wrong ones (not really sure if it was their mistake or mine). Nick accepted them back without question, and after a bit of gentle coaxing, he even waived the restock fee (oops, sorry, I shouldn't have told !).

Anyway, you can't go wrong with them --- except, Nick, I still haven't seen my in-store credit slip (LOL) !!!!!

FCP is my first choice when i need parts despite the fact that i live on the west coast. I prefer dealing with them than just about everybody else. When they shipped a package to the wrong adress, they resolved the problem very quickly and waved the shipping charges. I couldn't ask for more. IPD has good customer service but expesive.

Have had no problems with these folks. I've bought quite a few hundred in parts lately and they get it right or make it right. If they don't have it listed call and talk to Nick. later, rcs

Great people to deal with and about 1/2 what the dealer gets. I receive stuff in Va. in two days UPS ground.

Very good to deal with. Shipping is quick and reasonable. They will even waive shipping charges if order is above a certain minimum dollar amount.

Some of the Scantech items they sell are not as good as OE items. I have had various results. Flame traps seemed to be good.

FCP is top notch. You should know they carry or can get many items that are not listed on their web site. Their shipping rates are extremely reasonable and they get the stuff out quick... I'm in NY and usually get my parcels next day via UPS ground.

They're my first choice when I need anything. I've used them many times and their service is excellent. Best prices I've found also.

I've also used newandusedvolvoparts.com and have had good experiences with them too.

Nothing like calling a dealer for a quote on a part you have to go pick up yourself then ordering the same from one of the above and having it show up at your door or desk in a couple of days for half the cost.

Two thumbs up.

You'd have a hard time finding a more knowledgable or helpful bunch than FCP Groton.

I have had good luck with FCP too! Although, I try to shop around and really use only two or three different online parts suppliers. Also really like newandused volvo parts out of new jersey (very good with personal responses to questions), have bought from eeuropean and had no problems there! Partsbin, Swedish Engineering and GAPA are also alternative suppliers I have used. Price is always the major issue and the free shipping deals help.
