engine stand 200

Who makes an engine stand for the b230? Not one of those that you bolt on to the front/rear, one that attaches at the mounting points so that you can set it off in the corner of the garage for later use. More like an engine cradle or something.

I suggest using a front crossmember and engine mounts as on this B230FT in my garage.

Since every car make has different mountings a universal cradle might be hard to find. I have a suggestion. Make a dolly using three 4X4s, the trans cross member and some wheels. Space and drill holes in the two side 4X4s to fit the engine mount studs. Position the crossmember as one of the end pieces.

I have used in the past the bottom frame of old shoping carts. Throw the basket away , cut the cross brace to the oil pan width , maybe add a brace if needed . I have found several at store closings and the engine will roll fine . I have used these on V8 engines and Volvos. Best I have found for the price.

That's exactly what I was going to suggest! Yeah, a shopping cart is a tough, stable platform with the addition of a few 2X4s. Definitely strong enough to do what you need. Just add wood blocks to make a stable cradle under the mounts.
That said, there's nothing wrong with storing an engine on a proper engine stand for a long time. That's what they're designed to do. Remember to bag it up to keep dust out of the manifolds.
