Has anyone ever removed and cleaned a fuelpump check valve ? Is this possible ?
Has anyone had any problems with one of these. I have replace every fuel part in car and still have starting problems occasionally? But once car starts it runs wonderful ??

I have had this problem for years even if I get the check valve replaced twice.

I have tried STP fuel system cleaner several times and never seen any improvement.

Until recently, I bought BG-44K (fuel system cleaner) from the local Toyota dealer for $14.99 and the problem is gone now.

(Note: I have tried so hard to find BG-44K. Someone told me this product is for profession)

Just did mine. I was changing the fuel filter, and decided to do it too while I was at it. Mine was original (1986). With all the effort of remove and install, I don't think it's worth cleaning, as you can buy the part from Groton for $10.

I had one repaired 20 years ago in a 1974 145. Sounds like that might be the remedy.
