number 7 and 10 fuse related problems 200

Heidi is a 91 240 DL with 137k. Last week I thought I had this problem licked with a simple fix. This week, however, the problem came back. The shift release lock won't function and all 4 window switches are inoperative. Last week I cleaned the fuse socket and installed the fuses again and that worked for two days. What could be the problem?

Check the ground point under the carpet at the tranny tunnel and /or the upper left corner of the console frame where the majority of the grounds for the dash and relays are. Either/or could be a loose connection. Tranny tunnel ground is drivers side just forward of the tranny shifter cover, pull back thew carpet anbd take a peek.

Bentley shows common grounds in both areas. Check for loose screw and or corrosion. Window relays are behind the dash under the AC outlets (accessable via the removal of the glovebox).
