Great cupholders!

Like many brickheads I've been frustrated by the lack of cupholders in my 24os and now my 940. I was considering getting the armrest cupholder but they are over $100 new, maybe Husco would be cheaper. I was concerned about drinks hanging over the emergency brake and about trying to open the center storage with drinks in the holders. Well I've found some very nice cupholders on Ebay. Here's the link:

I bought a pair ($20 + SH) and mounted them on the front door panels of my 940 just behind the speaker covers. They work great and are in just the right position. The seller says they are the same as used in Mecedes for what that's worth. My only regret is in ordering the grey ones. The color is much lighter than the dark grey in my car and the black would have been a better choice.

They do look nice, think I will get some in tan for my 240 wagon. It says that you can mount them to the door panel, what method is used to mount them? It will sure beat putting a can into the front part of the door pocket, any small drink ontainer only fits in part way and sticks up quite far, if you need to wind the window down (I have hand cranks) you really cannot!

Great cupholders!

I mounted them on the door panel by taking off the panel, marking and drilling 4 holes for the screws. I used 4 flat head machine screws just long enough to go through the cupholder and the door panel.

I haven't had a look to see where these cupholders would fit on the 240 door. Be sure to leave room for the window handle. If you have electric windows these is more room.

With the door panel off, you can lube the window mechanism and locks.

This is not bad, Jim. Do me a favor and get the Burger's bagel, large cup, from the kitchen and see if it fits. My wife doesn't like the cupholder on the EM brake handle although it doesn't bother me.

This is what I am using now.

Great cupholders!

I tried a 7-11 Double gulp container and it fit. I'm not sure I'd want to overload the car springs like that though! If anyone drank that on a trip you'd have potty stops no end.

Great cupholders!

I'll try a large cup in the morning and let you know how it fits. The holder is adjustable but I've only used pop cans in it so far.

I believe those are the same ones that Griot's Garage has been selling for $17 each for a couple of years. They look nice.
