I have just replaced all of the suspension bushings, shocks and F/R sway bars (IPD bushing kit, Boge Turbo and IPD HD F/R sway bars) on my '93 245. It handles much better, but there is now a very noticeable squeak from the rear at slow speed in both reverse and forward gears. What's up with that? This only became apparent after we installed the bushings (had a shop do the installation). Is it possible to incorrectly install the bushings? Thoughts from the Board?

Do you know if the shop when installing the new bushings first tightened the bolts finger-tight, then lowered the car and bounced it a bit, and only then torqued to spec?

I don't know if they tightened by hand 1st, lowered, bounced and then torqued the bolts. I do know that they said that they had a very hard time getting the bushings out of the car and had to keep the car overnight to let their version of pb blaster work on it. I just had them retorque the bolts today, but it still squeaks and has a rattle in the back which I can't put my finger on. Very frustrating....John

If all is tight as suggested, sometimes new bushes will squeak a bit a first, but should diminish with time. A squirt with a pure silicone product helps without hurting anything.
Does it do it when you bounce the stationary car? (good diagnostic with head under car)

It squeaks if I push will very slight pressure on each side on the rear. Just a little push will produce a squeak.

Have a bud do that while you listen around.

I had squeaking in the back of my 88 245 after doing the bushings and shocks. Turned out to that the top mount on one of the shocks was just a bit loose.

Hmph. That's funny. Last fall I did all the exact same work myself and have the same result. I even torqued everything according to the manual. I had figured that something might need a little more. Will check mine out soon.
