new wiring harness, new problems 200

I hope someone can help me out. Recently a mechanic replaced my wiring harness. The car drives better on the freeway, and idles better, however it's started dying when I try to put it in gear. The problem goes away after it's been driven for awhile, but it's really embarrasing. Anyone ever have the same problems? Also, when I first take the car out on the road, it almost dies, then takes off again. Does this seem like a fuel pump or oxygen sensor problem?
Thanks a lot for the advice.

Fuel pump and O2 sensor should not be related to the wiring harness. Check your vacuum lines for hidden cracks and failures -- might have gotten pinched when the harness was replaced. Check timing, mixture, idle air pump, etc -- everything covered in a major tuneup.

My '82 240 has 330K miles. It ran a whole lot better after I replaced all engine bay wires that had bad insulation and all vacuum lines and fittings. Perhaps that's what your '84 needs.
