Are there two Nissens high efficiency Plastic/AL rads? 700

I know Nissen makes a metal rad or two, and a plastic/aluminum version, but when I go to the Nissen site and narrow down the choice using the OEM # 8601127, it give me two Plastic options. I cannot tell the difference and I am wondering if they have an upgraded part number and an improved the rad design or material.

I heard talk of a "NEW" high efficiency rad. So, I wonder if this is what that part number difference is. Mfrs. just don't add part numbers for no good reason. It causes too may problems, so, there is a difference, what I don;t know. Btw, I sent Nissens a ton of emails but no answer. Do you think those Danes can't read English?

Their site is confusing. Just call a retailer and speak with them about the correct application.

Yes and No - here is the answer 700

Actually I did that and not one retailer could tell me "anything." But I finally received a reply direct from Nissens. Below is a copy of the relevant text part of the message:

Dear Sir:

... the 65520A and 65544A are the same - both radiators can be used for AC and non AC. Only difference is that 65520A comes with the thermo contact which can be used as such or as a plug if you have a non AC car. 65544A comes with a rubber plug to be used for non AC applications. It serves AC as well - in this case you will have to buy the thermo contact.

I hope that this ansers your question. Please feel free to contact me should you need further information.

Best regards
NISSENS KØLERFABRIK A/S

Thanks anyway Steve,
diyer
