I know it can be done but is their anyone around that could help me? thanks to all those that helped me with the od and e-brake problem. please le me know I might be able to meet someone on saturday, thanks again

I've done it. But not 'empirically' - i.e. with lots of detailed instructions.

What I did was get the 140 series alternator and regulator (I happened to have a Marchal on hand, most people seem to prefer the Bosch). Fitting on the block requires an adaptor if you have a B18 - I have a B20 block so that was simple. Then I just looked at a 140 series wiring diagram - all the terminals are gernally labelled on the diagram and on the gadget. You could reuse some of the existing wiring in the new fashion, but it's probably better to just make a new wiring loom.

i did exactly the same thing. pulled everything including the harness from a local yard for 20 bucks(i got the motorola regulator). it was a snap. i can actually see at night!
