Time To Retire the Old Swede: Cleveland, $350.00 200 1987

Greetings, Bricksters: Well, it's with great trepidation that I must now part with the '87 daily driver, Need more room, and a newer car and all that. Plus I'm devoting more time to restoration of the '63 122S presently residing in the neighbor's garage. And finally, I'm trying to pick up an '84 from a neighbor. I've got too many irons in the fire. So, for $350, what you don't get is a perfect car, but you don't get a junker either. What you do get is a car that's been well cared for, driven daily, and one that I would not be afraid to drive anywhere. Engine is sound, with no noises. Tranny needs a rear bushing, so it drips fluid...otherwise, shifts correctly and is strong. 216K. Car will need shocks and struts soon, if not now, and there is some bodywork that will be required, especially after the winter. Body is shiny, everything works, and you're getting a good, solidly reliable car for your money. Again, it's not perfect, but what in this life is? So who wants it? The sooner the better, first come, first served....before I change my mind.

P.S. If you want to call me, I'm at (419)380-0055. I am leaving town next week for the East coast. I could stop by and take a look at the car on the way back sometime around October 17th to 19th. I will be taking the turnpike right through Cleveland back to Toledo.

Time To Retire the Old Swede: Cleveland, $350.00 200 1987

Hi, I live in Toledo, Ohio...Not too far from You. Is this a sedan or wagon? How had is the body? Is the floor rusted out. How is the wiring harness on it.
I have an 81 245 with 4 new doors and a new hatch, new seats...But the harness fried and the new one hasn't worked out too well. Also I've got 250,000 miles on it. The floor, quarters and rockers are rusted through. Both the motor and trans leak, the front bushings are shot and the list goes on and on. I think this will just be a parts car. Let me know how the body is. This sounds like what I've ben looking for.

Hey, Ben: Thanks for the reply. It's a sedan, and in pretty good shape, if I do say so myself. I've had NO wiring harness glitches since I've owned it, and put about 150K on it myself. The body is somewhat rusty, but only at the rockers, the tops of the rear wheel wells (not yet perforated), and two holes in the floor, but not rusted through. Frankly, on the road the car looks good, runs well and cleans up fine. The passenger side front door is a bit rusty, but again, not that it shows from the outside. Come take a look on your way back fro the East Coast. I think you'll like it. Call me at 440.235.9120 if you want to talk about it.

Brad
