Does anyone out there know about an odometer motor (circuit board with 2 wires) for my '91 Volvo 240 Sedan? My speedometer works, however, the odometer does not....I purchased and had installed a new odometer gear but was told by my mechanic told me I needed an odometer motor. Looked all over the internet for this and could not find one...in fact one site told me I would have to get from a dealer or a junkyard. Called the closest dealer and they told me I needed a Speedo Head at $652.00. Is this the least expensive I could get this? I just recently bought my Volvo for a song, and I think I'm finding out why....Can anyone help me? Thanks!

Yeah, I have a few spares. It is a cause of ODO failure (thanks Chuck Y. for the info) as well as the rectangular circuit component on the associated board. Those things account for about 10% of odometer failures. You have to remove the speedo needle with two spoons and then the face plate. Then unplug the two wires and replace the whole thing. Let me know if you need one. Or the whole darn speedo or both.

Rhaire.........I've not received a response on your spare odometer circuitboards or speedo heads for my '91 240. I do need one or the other of these to make my odometer work again, and as I stated previously, my speedometer does work....Thanks for your help!

Thanks rhaire and Chuck Y for responding to my call for help. According to my mechanic, all I need is the circuit board with 2 wires and not the entire Speedo Head. You mentioned you have a few spares.....what is your price and how would you prefer payment...Thanks again!
