I saw a 240 wagon recently, I think it was a post-86 model and it had a different tailgate. The main difference was that the window was mounted flush with the sheetmetal and not recessed like my 84. Is this an OE style for later models or could it be sourced from like a 745 or something?
I'm just curious.

Standard for all 245 91-up. They changed the rear glass when they changed the windshield trim to the flush glas style with no chrome trim. The whole gate can be swapped out for the newer style if wanted.

I have one of these t-gates in the garage to go on my '86 245 someday (yeah, right, I won't win the race with rust). Aside from the vastly improved window trim 'n gasket, the only difference I see is that the washer nozzle is mounted on the door, directly above the window. The older cars have the nozzle to the side, in the body. So a little drilling, a grommet, and replumbing would be called for.

the early 90's 245's had that tailgate...I dont think they can be retro fit to an older model.
