has anyone ever heard of a crank position sensor failing, yet no code being reported on the diagnostics? my symptoms seem to point towards a bad CPS, yet, no code is being thrown. if this is highly uncommon, id like to save myself the fun and $$ of replacing it!

MIne went bad and replaced it - it ran fine for 2000 miles until the tranny is now fucked.
