My daughter's 87 244 runs great. But the stitching is rotting in the back seat, both the back and the cushion. A guy says to go to a junk yard and buy the whole seat. Then he says the color doesn't matter. Just use interior paint for vinyl. He says it stretches. Has anybody done this? Will the paint hold up? Will I get paint on my butt if I sit back there? Thanks in advance, Bob

I'd try to match the color. Painting is a lot of extra work and no guarntee it won't peel.
