sorry, another tire size question 700 1989

I have a set of BBS wheels that will fit my 700, they are 16 inch, 7.5 inches wide, with an offset of 18. I would like to go wider than the 205/55/16 tires that seem a popular size.

I'm thinking 215/50/16, which isn't available on many makes, or 225/50/16.

Anyone using the same or similar wheel that can suggest a size that works for them?

thanks

I am running the 225/50/16 setup on my 740 with a similar wheel. My offset is 22, otherwise same sizes. The FAQ says this is the largest size width wise you can run on the car. I have no rub or any concerns. Tires are Kuhmo Ecsta Supra 712's. This is a common size tire, giving you a wide selection. Of course I have snow tires on steel rims also, which will go on soon!

thanks sean for the info, how do you like those tire you have? I'm looking for set that will handle decent in rain and dry, with fairly good mileage. I really don't drive all that hard. Of course, they got to look good too.
