245 swawbar swap 200

hello was at the junkyard today. found a turbo 1984 245 will the swaybars from this car fit on my 1987 245. also thinking about pulling the wiring harness for the power mirrors.i know the mirrors themselves are different on the 87 wagon but will the harnesses get me started on this venture, and was power mirrors an option after 1986 . so i might find some mirrors at a later time.

Only the front bar is different on wagons. The bushing mounts to the body (not end links) may be different. Volvo changed these after 84. You can move the rubber bushings over from the 84.

Yep. Remember to get ALL the mounting hardware.

I have a set of IPD bars that went from my '75 245 to an '82 245T, another set that went from an '81 245 to an '86 245.

IPD also has replacement polyurethane bushings for their sway bars.

If you go for the wiring harness, also get the special 4-way toggle switches. Those are hard to find.

And if you have a chance to get decent, working power mirrors, grab 'em. If they don't fit your car, someone might buy them from you (or you could sell them on eBay).

yeah, the front swaybar should be 23mm while your front is 21mm probably. it fits fine, but get the mounting brakets with bushings off the donor car(if they're still any good) to fit the bigger bar. As for the rear, turbo wagons came with a really small 16mm bar I think...maybe it's 18mm, but either way, it's no better than the one you already have. If you find a turbo sedan, it'll have a 21mm bar in the rear which is direct bolt on as well. good luck
