What are the best heavy-duty coil springs? 700 1991

Should I buy new heavy-duty (overload) springs for my '91 745 from IPD or FCP Groton? The latter is much less expensive, but they do not have springs that are specific for sedans and wagons, whereas IPD has springs for each (at $150 a pop, by the way!). Also, what are the chances I will need rear shocks at the same time? What is best? Sachs Advantage sell for only $39 apiece.

Thanks.

I've got the Scan Tech HD springs on my wagon, and I'm happy with the ride & performance of these coils under all conditions. However, I believe these are actually stock-type replacement spings for a wagon, rather than "overload" coils, such as IPD sells.

These are the ones you're thinking of on the FCP site, right?

30.6621 Rear Heavy Duty Coil Spring all 740/760/940/960 Sedan's and Wagon's w/o Multilink

These correspond to Volvo part #1359710, which is listed on WoldPac parts sites thus:

11.9mm wire diameter
std duty for wagon
hvy duty for sedan
Not for models equipped with Nivomat self-leveling rear shocks unless rear shocks also replaced with non-self-leveling type.

I did have the appearance of slight rear-end sag when I installed these spings, until I replaced the front ones, which restored the "normal" ride height all around.

If you want the benefits of a "real" overload coil, spend the extra $$ for the IPDs.

iPd sells 'em by the pairs. FCP sells them each.

I have the iPd's, and did not notice any additional harshness. Some have reported the ScanTech's as riding much harsher without 200 lbs. in the back.
