Low charge or pressure switch? 700

Well, I finally got a the climate control to send a +12 V source to the A/C pressure switch, but that's where it stops, the pump does run though when the lug is jumpered. So, my next question in this project is how do you determine if the pressure switch is bad, or if the system is low on charge? Thanks in advance.

Measure the pressure at the accumulator; if it's below ~35 psi the compressor won't run.

Changing the switch 700

Will the system vent freon if the pressure switch is removed, or is it isolated in some way?

There is a shraeder valve under it. You can unscrew it and replace it without doing anything else. Replace th O-ring also. It does not come with the pressostat. These do fail pretty often and they cost $35-40. I think the number someone gave is right for the switch to be closed. If you have a gauge, check the static system pressure. If it's too low, the switch may be OK.
