Low beam headlights not working. High beam lights do work. 700 1990

My 1990 740 GL wagon low beams stopped work about three weeks ago. I have been driving around at night with high beams only. Not that I have noticed it bothering the other drivers. I have replaced the light bulbs and checked the fuses. This was the first thing that I did with no luck. Next I replaced the head light switch, still no luck. Next I have a friend who has a 1989 740 GL and I borrowed the high beam switch from his car and still the low beams are not working. What have I missed? Any help please.

Low beam power is routed thru the Bulb Failure Sensor. It's the round red thing plugged into the relay tray. Don't buy one right off—try to borrow one to test with first.

Thanks for your responds,

I just checked the relays according to the FAQ identification chart. The relay looked fine. The switch was in the open position and I could move it to both positions. Any other ideals.

Try the headlight relay behind the ashtray. You'll see which one it is on the diagram behind ashtray.
