Rear main oil seal 200 1991

I put a rear main seal in yesterday and I was not able to get it in even all around, so you know what happened, oil everywhere.... grrrrr.

Now, what's the trick to getting the seal in straight? I'm thinking some PVC pipe about 3-4 inches in Dia. should do it. Can I rent that tool that Bently says I need? Can I buy it from somewhere?
