I'm only replacing the two fronts 185/65R15 so I'm not looking for snows. I want tires that wear long and give a nice ride. What is your experience, what do you suggest?

I think for the money, you can't beat Dunlop D65 Touring tires. Michelins are great tires if you have the money, but the Dunlops "feel" about the same on the road and give good wear -- and they cost much less. I think at one time Comsumer Reports rated the Dunlop as the best all around tire for the money. I agree.

The michelin Weatherwise Sport is a good tire too. Great in the wet and very hard-wearing.

It's good to know that Dunlop is the "B" brand for Goodyear, just as BF Goodrich is Michelin's "B" brand. Have friend that replaced out of round Dunlops with Bridgestones. Have stepson with Yokohama with separated tread. Have wife that replaced defective Goodyears with Michelins.

Just as there is only one car (Mercedes) and everyone else is just pretending, there is only one tire and it's Michelin.

Had good experience with Michelin 'Classic' some 8 years ago.

3 years ago I got Michelin from Costco, same time as my landlord.
Guess what ? All the Costco Michelin from around year 2000 went bad.
Must have been a bad batch or what.

Another good tire is the Michelin X Ones. Not as high end as the other one mentioned already but the Michelin x1's are also smooth running/quiet and have a very good wear rating (i think close to 600 but don't quote me).

Ditto on the Michelin MXV4's. H's run $120 but come with a great ride, quiet, and wear rating of 400.

i work at a dealership and i see a lot of tire failures, best tire for your car is michelin mx4 rainforce

The Michelin MX4 has been the tire for me for the last 10 yrs,on my 87 740 and I just turned 312K miles. And dont go by immitations made only for Costco or BJ's. They are cheaper,made in S. America,but the quality is much lower than original.

Go to the national mail order houses Tire Direct, etc. go into brands and they have good surveys for users of each, rated are all the specs for the tire. I like Dunlop A2 Sports (was D60 A2)and some of the Brigestones are very nice. The Dunlops are not the longest lasting but I like grip in the water so this is good. A couple of years ago they came in # 2 in a consumer reports survey for touring tires, just behind michelin X, which were twice the price of the A2. I replace them before they get hard and skid prone, from heating and cooling a thousand times. I learned the hard way with old Michelins that just would not wear out. Then comes that one time at 65 mph that requires grip in the rain..........We use them on 745 T (3 ea), 745T V-8, 245, 740, a 1967 Corvette and A hot rod Lincoln 1992 LSC. No problems in say 8-10 years of use.
