I have a 1970 Amazon. The last line on the VIN-plate starts with 'S' and is followed by a stamped number '5370'. I know that this means there's some sort of special equipment installed in my Amazon, but I have a hard time finding out what that might be. I don't even know if it's still there. So far I have had no luck finding a list of codes and the meaning of these codes. It seems to be a very well kept secret.

Maybe someone here can help me?

Hi,

Here is what I found in the 1969 manual conserning special models:

5315 GT-version

5396 Engine Type B20B part # 497924 1)with fan coupling

5558 Headrest

5559 Headrest

5575 Modification to spec. version 5314 right hand drive cars

5576 Modification to spec. version 5314 left hand drive cars

However, I don't find 5370.

More or less the same list is in my parts catalogue, but here too is missing 5370.

I've never found any listing of those special codes, and I would bet real money that Volvo has no record of them anymore.
