Failed check valve??? 700 1992

Recently it doesn't start on the first crank unless you let it turn a little bit. But on the second crank it starts as normal. The car can be warm or cold but if it sits for only 20 minutes then I have this problem. It seems this happened overnight. The FAQ leads me to think it's the check valve. Any thoughts?

If your ignition system is Regina with only one in-tank fuel pump there is no in-line check valve, at least there isn't on mine. If yours is a Bosch system I would replace the check valve, FCP Groton has them for around $11.00.
