Cooler spark plugs

I am thinking of substituting a cooler range of spark plugs for the bosch wr7dc's that I now have in my 1988 740 turbo. I went to their web site and the next cooler plug is the WR6DC. Has anyone tried these? The reason for the switch is that my car is making a pinging sound that I can't get to go away. THe other possibility is an NGK BPR7ES. What do you think?

Pre-ignition ping can damage an engine. What steps have you taken to correct that problem?

Good Luck,

Bob

I checked NGKs website and it says to use the BPR6ES plug. This is also what FCPgroton lists. However IPD lists the BPR7ES to use. NGK plugs get cooler as the number increases so the BPR7ES would be a good try for you.

I use NGK BP7ES in my turbos.
Plug heat range is unlikely to affect pinging, though, unless it's way to hot.
