Brake Booster is gone what to do??? 120-130

Thinking about replacing my giant brakebooster with a smaller, better one that I have now. Has anybody done this and what is the best replacement???

That appears to be a high-quality Lockheed booster, which is what I'd recommend as a replacement for the various old Volvo boosters. Smaller ones are available from hot-rod suppliers, but I suspect their quality.

You'll find, though, that if you remove it entirely, the car will still stop just as quickly -- the booster just lowers the pedal effort. Better to have no booster than a cheap one. I don't have boosters on either of my '60s Volvos and they stop just fine.

yep I do mean brake fluid. The brakes still work well but the fluid does dissapear and I do get white smoke from the exhaust once in a blue moon. But if I can bypass the brakebooster thats fine. Don't need comfort. Just power

Hi.

If I remember right, is no good that brake fluid goes to the engine. Please, bypass the servo asap. The servo can be overhauled later, if you want it back aboard.

Servos don't add additional power, only more easy foot presure (and, I believe, at least on my case, it let me to start the effective brake a bit more fast).

From the pic it looks as if you have the 7" Lockheed. There is a smaller version, about 5 7/8ths I think. I think these are a bit easier to rebuild than the Girlings and the kits are available. Try an MG specialist.
