Replaced almost all the coolant system components 900

Finally was able to get some time to do all the cooling components. Been almost two weeks since i first pulled the radiator. Then parts came in after a week and then it was Thanksgving and we had to go out of town. So I got around to doing it only on Sunday, yest afti and most of today morning. Replaced

Radiator
Upper Hose
Lower Hose
T-stat
expansion tank
expansion tank hose
oil cooler hoses
breather box

It was too cold(DC area) today so I gave up on the heater hoses+valve. Just couldn't find the strength to pull them out what with my hands having cuts all over and what not plus I really missed driving the car. Some other time for that, maybe in the summer. Lets hope all replaced components last another 5 years atleast. I'd like to thank all the bricksters for their advice in my previous posts on the coolant-system-components topic. Special thanks to
Brian S whose wonderful photo gave me the courage to get under the car(w/o jacks) to do the oil hoses. Its been a really nice experience. Just praying that I tightened all clamps decently enough not to have coolant gushing out of some corner in the near future. For now my body aches like hell especially the right shoulder and right arm.

Thanks
Naveen

Nice work! good for you. Definitely a good idea to rest those aching muscles, and let you hands heal before you chop 'em up again with that heater valve & hoses. Just be sure to keep an eye on your coolant level for the next little bit, in case you need to tighten/reseat any of those clamps...

When replacing hoses I find that if I use a knife to cut the hose at a right angle to its end it makes removal very easy.

I agree with Randy especially with the hoses going to the heater core. If you don't cut them loose, you risk deforming the soft brass fittings and then you risk having a leak. Hope you bought "good" clamps for the heater hoses. I like the worm dirve clamps, but only the ones with a shield to keep the slots in the clamp band from cutting into the hose.

Dan
