Need Limited-slip Installed Western PA 200

Can anyone recommend a known quantity to install a limited-slip differential in a '90 240? I am 65 miles east of Pittsburgh,PA, but I am willing to travel in order to get a job with no sins or excuses.

Thanks to all who have taken the time to read this request.

Hi Rich,

I just did a BrickBoard search for "limited slip" and came up with some threads you might want to read while contemplating your decision. Do the search yourself and/or jump right to this one. Good luck.

Rico,

"Can anyone recommend a known quantity"

You mean like how much it will cost to change the rear? With the part included? I don't know. But I'm sure a lot of people who post here will agree with me that four high quality snow tires make a HUGE difference in the snow. Assuming that's what you want the limited slip for.

Jim,

Poor choice of words on my part. Can anyone recommend a good mechanic to install and set up a limited slip diff?

For years I've been running Hakkapeliita's on all four corners of our cars, but I am starting to feel guilty because while I have them mounted on a Vanagon Syncro while the rest of the household has them on 240's. Also, next fall, my daughter is headed to New Hampshire in a 240/5sp and I am trying to give her a fighting chance when she lands there.

Rich
