Does anyone know how rare the foglight grille insert for the 142 is?

Depends on what year it is. I have 2 of the very rare 1972 foglight grill in my possesion yet I've never seen a pic in a genuine catalog. I think the 73-74 aren't that rare but the other years are harder to find these days

Figured I'd toss these up.They are out of the competition catalog from about 1973.Should have taken them in the day time,my appologies,if anyone wants better pix let me know

I have never seen one in person for any year, nor one for sale. Maybe I will get lucky some day :)

I imagine you need to get headlight buckets and some mounting bracket for behind the grille as well right?

How rare?? VERY!! I have seen only 1 for 71-72 cars and I've been looking for one for 15 years,I would take either the 66-70 or the 71-72,(I'm not picky!) I have heard rumors about a guy who hand fabricates the earlier grille.I can't imagine but aparently they are a flawless reproduction! VERY hard to believe.I will keep you posted.Volvo offered 2 kits (for both different styles) one had driving lights,the other had fogs.

These are amazingly elusive items. I've seen one in my entire life and it lives on a 145 not six blocks from me (71-72 style). If he ever sells that car I'm buying it for the grill!

I had a set of the ones shown on the bottom in the photo. I believe they came out of a 142GT originally. They did have the brackets which the lamps were mounted on and the wiring harness but the lamps were both rotted out.
I know where they are and might be able to retreive them but not until the new year. I live in Brisbane in Australia.

Keep us informed! :) I have never seen on of these grilles in person.
