rear defogger 200 1989

hi,

this morning i hit the switch for rear defogger and it wouldn't stay down
usually hit the switch and stays down for a bit to de-ice etc..then pops up
is it the switch or is the wiring in back broken, can it be fixed

all ideas welcomed

    In both of my 88s the switch isn't supposed to stay down. But the light is supposed to stay on for a while. Are you saying that the light doesn't stay on? Does your defroster not work? Check that first. If your light isn't staying on but your defroster is actually working, then you just need to replace the light in the switch.
