Hi,

I have recently received the 3-1-4 check engine code (CMP camshaft position sensor) on my 960 wagon. How urgently should I deal with this?

I have a used one that I replaced with new one because I had engine out and didn't feel like messing with it later. It works fine.

I got this code about 2 weeks ago after some nasty New England blizzard weather. Mine was just poor electrical connections. Check your connector behind the back of the head. I cleaned mine and worked it in and out about 5-6 times reset my OBD I light and it has been fine for the last 800 miles.

Aha - there is corrosion on one of the pins of the connector. I have worked it in and out a few times - I need a small wire brush to get rid of the worst of the corrosion, but we will see how it fares in the meantime.

i have had a sensor on hand about 2 wks. now and car is still running.what are your symptoms?mine has an intermittent miss.

No apparent symptoms - engine is sounding and running fine. There is a very slight occasional shake when idling, but that was there before the light came on. I'll check the connection as suggested elsewhere.
