1800 Mags 140-160

I'm looking for wheels and like the appearance of the 1800 mag. Seems more appropriate for the vintage car than the virgos. Any caveats about those wheels?
What size are they, 15x6"? 15x7"?

Joe Lazenby at Susquehanna Spares has a set of these rims. Apparently they are the same bolt pattern as the 140. I don't know how heavy they, are but my guess from looking at them is that they're at least as heavy as steel rims. If you want to ask him about them his email is j1la2z@earthlink.net.

Like these? Steel rim riveted to an aluminum center. Not particularly light, 5.5 inches wide. Or is that 5 inches? Either way, suited for 185/15 tires, not really anything much wider.

Yup those are them. With the beauty rings. I'm happy with 185's for now. Could maybe a wider steel rim be rivetted on?
Are there any aftermarkets that look like that?

One problem with those is that they are made of two dissimilar metals -- aluminum amd steel. Over the years, they develop galvanic corrosion where the metals join. Just something to check out...

Not aware of any aftermarkets with a similar style; those were Dunlop wheels designed specifically for the 1800.

The other problem is, as John alluded, is that those are the heaviest #$%^& rims I've ever gotten a hernia over.
I've never seen anything quite like them visually, but Volvo FWD 5 lug rims fit pretty well.

I've got a set of them on my 1800E with the exact same tires (Firestone F560 165R15) as on the silver slotted steel wheels I used to have on my PV. I could pull one off the 1800 and weigh them both. Only problem being it was 6(!) degrees outside this morning!

Now that I think of it, perhaps they are only 4.5 inches wide - the 165 tires certainly look like they fit properly on them
