Air conditioning unit update 1800 1970

I see people saying they have updated there airconditioning units to rotary pumps // thats fine but im in Hawaii and we have no resorce for anything..
Can anyone help me find the ways and means to switch my air over to NEW ?

There's a kit that includes adapter brackets to make one of these a direct replacement for an old York or Tecumseh compressor. Also, you can get a much more efficient crossflow condensor, which is where the actual cooling takes place.

Seals are generic items available at NAPA and similar stores.

I have not yet done the conversion, but total cost -- including a new filter/dryer, which should be replaced whenever the system is opened -- is around $450, including having a licensed shop evacuate and charge the system with R134a.
