New to volvos. I saw a picture of a 544 with pop out side windows and would like some for my first volvo project. Are the 444-544 side windows the same does year matter? Are they rare? How much would a set go for? IF you have any forsale let me know.

What sorta car are you working on? Sort of sounds likeyou have a 444 or 544 that does not have pop out windows??? I was under the impression that all 544s had 'em, but I'm not sure about 444s and when they had 'em or if they were optional or what...

In any case, assuming your car down't have them, I thnk the hard part would be where the hinge screws into the pillar. But the whole window frame could well be different as well, being that they would accept different sorts of gaskets. Also, you might run into trouble mounting the latch itself...

444 and 544 pop-out rear side windows are real similar but not identical. The 444 version has a latch mechanism that's chrome; the 544 uses a mechanism that's chrome with a plastic 'ball' shaped handle. The 444 ratchet has 5 settings; the 544 has (I think) 2.

I don't know (but I should) if they'll interchange.

I think I have some 544 windows. If I can find 'em, I'll make ya a good deal.

I have '61 544 and it does not have the push-out rear windows. I think it was the economy car version because it also had a 3-speed trans. and a single carb (Zenith) instead of SUs. I have parts car 544 with nice push-outs and I often wonder if I should try to switch them. It would be so nice in summer to have some flow-through ventilation.
