window defrost? 200 1985

Ok, my switch I believe went out for the vaccum pushers to close the inside vent to switchfrom floor defrost and recirculate. How would I check to make sure thats what it is? It might have been a fuse, but don't know which one, there numbered 1-16 in the box if any info much appreciated.

As Chuck sez, it's a vacuum actuator.

Check things out. All the vents have a vacuum actuator. Left side separate from right side. Test the settings and check air coming out. Foot warmer on both sides? Defroster on both sides? Air blowing on the rear passenger's feet?

If a vacuum line is off a switch, both sides affected. One side affected? likely to be just the one actuator at fault.

Post back on this thread with what you find.

    Good Luck,

    Bob

there are no fuses for the actuators, they run entirely on vaccum pressure. it sounds like either an acutator went bye bye or a vaccum hose came undone. you could look behind the defrost button to see if the hose is still attached at that terminal. you will need to pull back the center console to see this.
