Clutch slip 200

Just replaced the clutch on my 245 wagon, but it is slipping only when making a right hand turn. OD also doesn't work now. Replaced the relay and fuse is good. Checked the connections on the solenoid, they're fine. No clicking when I push the button. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Bob

Clutch slip 200

Slips only during right hand turns. Check cable free play and motor mounts. I have to ask. Are you SURE the throwout bearing is in correctly. I put mine in backwards the first time and pulled the tranny after unable to adjust free play. Never drove it. Popped the rubber boot on the clutch arm off, looked in expecting a bent arm and proceeded to teach myself a whole bunch of new words once I figured it out.

OD. Key is the dash light. If it goes on, your yellow wire to the solenoid is damaged somewhere. If the dash light does not go on, the red wire to the 4th gear switch. Alternate. Do you back up lioghts work? The wires share the same harness underneath with the OD and things do get switched around.

If the OD was working before you replaced the clutch, I'd suspect that something has happened to the wiring in the shift lever or the wiring to the solenoid. Also did you check the 4th gear switch and connections up on the top right side of the tranny?. To get power to the solenoid, the relay must operate and the 4th gear switch must be closed. Also the switch on the shifter must send 12v to the relay to get things started. With the ignition sw to the run position and the tranny in 4th, press the switch on the shift lever. You should be able to hear the OD relay click. If not check the wiring as I mentioned above. Good luck!
