1994 940 Turbo Exhaust Valve 900 1994

Why are there no oil seals on the exhaust valves for this engine? Could my smoking exhaust be caused by this? If so, must I machine the head and get oversized valves. I have rebuilt the turbo, but oil in the exhaust manifold leads me to believe the valve seals are leaking as well. Smokes at idle and when very cold. 157,000 miles on the engine. Thanks in advance for any help you all can offer.

You might want to make sure the turbo drain line is not blocked. It's the pipe that goes from the bottom of the turbo into the block. Get a new gaasket and pipe seal while you're at it.
