Can these still be bought new? If so were from?

    Volvo Green Manuals 200

I've bought all of my 200/700 Volvo green manuals on eBay (I have about 2.5 binders full). For the price of a new one from www.VolvoTechInfo.com, I can buy about 3 of them at auction prices. The trick is to be patient, think ahead of repairs or service that you might need in the next 6 months to a year, and bid when you see the manuals that will assist you with your car.

Personally, if I had to rank the 240 Green manuals that have been most valuable to me, they would be the following:
    1. Wiring diagrams for your specific year(s) of compatible vehicles.
    2. Fuel Injection service manual (for your specific FI version, 2.0, 2.2, etc.)
    3. Transmission and/or drivetrain.
    4. Front Suspension
    5. Rear suspension
    6. Engine (for your specific engine, B21F, B23F, B230F, etc.)

However, a copy of the Bentley book will cover just about everything the DIY home mechanic will need.

    God bless,
    Fitz Fitzgerald.

Was going to post a question asking what the best green manuals to get are? The FI manual looked like a good one to get. How does the wiring diagrans manual help out? Just can't think of any reason to get this unless my harness started going.

The wiring diagram manual covers just about every single wire that is run in the car. This is very important when you're trying to trouble shoot any kind of electrical issue like an intermitant headlight, or a horn that stays on, or a poorly functioning set of brake lights. With the wiring diagram, you can read the wire colors that go to the troubled device, follow them back and hopefully identify the various parts to test (a relay here, a solenoid there, a ground connection over there, etc).

Anytime I purchase a vehicle (or a friend of mine does and I expect to be working on it), I start shopping for a book(s) that will have the appropriate wiring diagrams and fuel injection information.

        God bless,
        Fitz Fitzgerald.

They are still availalable from Volvo and are well worth the cost. I have two binders full for my 240's and they are dogeared and full of greasy thumbprints from frequent use. They are pricey and make reference to special Volvo tools but the pictures and diagrams are clear and are actually slanted to the shade tree mechanic IMHO.

You're gona love that Wiring Diagrams manual......... 200

      Doug -

Last time I ordered a manual, it was the Wiring Diagrams for 1985 240, it cost me around $45.00USD, IIRC. If you wouldn't mind telling, what was the cost of the manual you ordered?

      Thanks,

      Bob

        Bob,

No problem. The manuel is $28.50. Shipping is $6.50. Total of $35.00 to my door. (#TP303161/1)

PS: Did you see my most recent post/question on the horn? I'd be interested to see what you think. At least I got inspired to learn more.
