Wagon CD Changer mounting questions 700

In a 700 or 900 series wagon, where would one mount a CD changer? I hear under the floor panel...but if I get it installed, sometimes they don't put it there. Does anyone have a diagram of the cargo area in such wagons so that I can see where exactly it would go?

I installed my Sony 10-cd changer in the center of the cargo area about 6 years ago. Did it myself, very easy install! It has worked out perfectly. I do notice the area can get dusty at times. So I keep it covered. Though, I am a landscaper and it is par for the course.
I taped the wires together with electrical tape so it would be eassier to run them underneath all the panels. If I remember correctly there where already some holes (right below the hinges)for the mounting screw that I utilize during installation. I wouldn't suggest putting it in the storage bins as I notice moisture gets in there at times. I know many people only buy the 6 cd changer. If you enjoy music, spend lots of time in your brick you may want to purchase a larger one, especially if you are going to install it a little out of the way. If you have electric seats, and are installing a 6-cd changer you may have enough room under the passenger seat.

Best Regards,

I have a 760 wagon and mounted mine vertically in the right side "storage bin" My area was perfectly dry and the player is out of sight. Worked for me.

Hmm, that sounds like a really good idea. Would there be moisture issues with such a mounting? I'm going to suggest that type of installation so I don't have to shell out money for a blasted cargo cover.
