M46 OD=where to get those pesky plastic washers? Or should I use copper? 200 1983

I just rebuilt and installed a good OD on my son's 83 245...I could not find those plastic washers to prevent leaks on the upper 2 bolts, so I got 2 soft copper washers and it is installed and running. Did I do a bad thing?
Now I have his original OD on the bench. I plan to rebuild it and keep for future use. should I use the copper washers or look for the plastic ones...a la IPD?

Plastic or copper, no difference in sealing capability. It's a matter of cost.

Both should be at your LOCAL well stocked hardware store. The store with the row of thin cardboard partioned boxes on trays filled with many things you and I have not a clue as to where they are needed until one of them breaks.

I needed some about three years ago and I got them at a Volvo dealer.
